Programs Offered

This course's main purpose is to educate the student in the basic hands-on skills, safety protocols and proper work habits needed to pass the State Board examination. It is designed to build competency in entry level job positions in Cosmetology or related fields. 

A National Award Winning Robotics Course, students will transfer academic skills to component designs in a project-based environment through implementation of the design process. Students will build prototypes or use simulation software to test their designs. Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the robotic and automation industry. 

In this intro to Video Game Design course, students learn gaming, computerized gaming, evolution of gaming, artistic aspects of perspective, design, animation, technical concepts of collision theory, and programming logic. Students will participate in a simulation of a real video game design team while developing technical proficiency in constructing an original game design.

Speech and Debate is a year-long elective that will give students an introduction to a variety of public speaking and formal debate styles, with a focus on Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas formats. Throughout the course, students will become familiar with these styles through instruction, research, observation, and lots and lots of practice.

College tours are arranged throughout the year to enable SBI students to have in-person experiences with colleges and universities. During these tours, students explore the campus, classrooms, facilities, and other relevant areas. The purpose of a school tour is to provide firsthand experiences and insights into the institution’s environment, culture, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and overall atmosphere. It allows participants to interact with current students, faculty, and staff, ask questions, and assess whether the school aligns with their educational goals and preferences. School tours are valuable for making informed decisions about enrollment and understanding what each institution has to offer.
